As an Italian with a penchant for history and luxury, staying at Locus Amoenus felt like stepping back in time while being embraced by modern comfort. the 8000-year-old cave-turned-apartment exuded a special atmosphere that blended seamlessly with its contemporary amenities. The warm welcome we received from the hosts set the tone for a truly memorable experience. Their hospitality, coupled with the delicious local cuisine breakfast served in the private breakfast room, was a delightful start to each day. the housekeeping was impeccable, ensuring that our rooms with AC and ventilation were always comfortable and inviting. the proximity to popular sites like Tramontano Castle and Palombaro Lungo made our tours hassle-free, thanks to the assistance provided by the hosts. Walking through uninhabited caves nearby added an extra layer of adventure to our trip. In conclusion, Locus Amoenus exceeded our expectations in every way possible. the unique blend of ancient history, modern comfort, and genuine hospitality made it a truly enchanting destination. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a one-of-a-kind experience in Matera. Grazie mille to our lovely hosts for making our stay unforgettable.
